Shrinking Ice Caps– By: Rebecca S.

In the Canadian Arctic, there are a lot of changes being made to the landscape. It isn’t the same as how it used to be. In fact there is something very scary going on. Melting ice caps. These glaciers hold millions of tons of frozen water in them. They are melting and shrinking slowly but surely. There is no hope unless we do something about it. They have been shrinking a whole lot since 1979 and are continuing from Global Warming. We have to stop polluting, otherwise we will be living underwater. In the next 100 years, scientist predict that the sea level will raise 20 to 40 cm. If we want to save our earth, we must act on it. We only get one chance. So lets do this right. We started this mess, so we must fix it.

Discussion Questions:

1) How do we stop the ice from melting?

2) What are some ways to prevent this from continuing?

    1. I think we can stop the ice caps from melting by not polluting as much…if we reduce that then Global Warming will eventually stop! =)
